The largest dedicated marine renewable energy conference in the United States, the Global Marine Renewable Energy Conference (GMREC), took place April 10-11 in Washington, DC. There was participation from a broad range of stakeholders, including developers, national laboratories, academia, financial investors, and end users of renewable energy. Keynote speakers included Lisa Murkowski, U.S. Senator for Alaska, and Angus King, U.S. Senator for Maine. Cardinal Engineering’s Roger Bagbey presented on the Ocean Energy System’s Annex V, a long term study and international exchange of information and experiences in designing, developing, testing and deploying marine energy devices. Roger is the Operating Agent for the study, on behalf of the U.S. Energy Department.
