Cardinal Engineering Custom Software Solution Featured on Siemens Website

Innovative use of FEMAP, a finite element modeling pre- and post-processing code developed by Siemens, has landed Cardinal as a featured case study on the renowned software developer’s website.  Cardinal engineers used the Application Programming Interface (API) feature of FEMAP in conjunction with in-house, custom programmed Python scripts to develop automated modeling, analysis and post-processing programs.  These programs enabled Cardinal to analyze over 1,000 unique shipboard pipe hanger foundations for a shipyard client in a very short period of time.  Siemens was particularly impressed with how Cardinal engineers interfaced Python with API to form a comprehensive and powerful automated modeling tool.
