Cardinal Engineering is very pleased to announce the award of a Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) contract by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Cardinal and our research institution partner, Florida State University’s Center for Advanced Power Systems (FSU-CAPS) will pursue research and development activities to demonstrate a Dynamic Emulated System (Software + Firmware + Hardware) In Loop (DESIL) capability through missile defense hardware emulation with missile defense software co-simulation.
Cardinal and FSU-CAPS will design and develop an architecture and toolkit called Modular Integrated System of Systems Interactive Laboratory Environment (MISSILE). MISSILE is an innovative approach to leverage decades of shipboard power system power hardware-in-the-loop (PHIL) and controller hardware-in-the-loop (CHIL) capabilities to generate an architecture and toolkit that will provide near real-time digital emulated system-in-the-loop capabilities and code execution testing for missile defense systems.
