In support of the U.S. Navy, Cardinal Engineering’s advanced power conversion subject matter expert was aboard PCU Jack H. Lucas (DDG 125) as she underwent Builder’s Trials. DDG 125 is the first ship of the DDG 51 Flight III class. The Flight III upgrades are centered on the AN/SPY-6(V)1 Air and Missile Defense Radar and incorporates upgrades to the electrical power and cooling capacity. Cardinal was requested to ride the ship and provide support for the radar’s advanced power conversion system as well as assist with resolution of any technical issues that arose while underway. We are proud to support the U.S. Navy’s DDG 51 Shipbuilding Program and continue to work with the Government and Industry team as they bring this new ship class to life in defense or our nation.
