Immediate Opening: Structural Engineer

Cardinal Engineering is currently seeking an engineer to provide structural engineering expertise in direct support of the Navy on new and in-service submarine programs. Position requires at least three years of hands-on analytical, technical, and structural engineering experience.  B.S. degree required, advanced degree desired in Mechanical, Marine, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering, or other technical disciplines with exposure to the design and analysis of complex naval structures. Looking for team-oriented individuals who will be providing direct support to the U.S. Navy for submarine and surface ship structural designs. Successful candidates will participate in small team or individual research to evaluate structure and provide guidance to design teams. Ideal candidates have experience with finite element analysis and modeling codes, direct experience with submarine acquisition programs, and familiarity with the processes and procedures associated with navy program offices.

Position is hybrid, with potential reporting office locations at the Washington Navy Yard and Pawcatuck, CT.  Some travel may be required in execution of assigned duties. Must currently possess or be capable of obtaining a SECRET security clearance.  Candidate should have excellent communication skills both written and oral and be able to work well without supervision.
